Stanley engaged Product
Genesis to design a 50-foot tape rule that would fit
into a users hand like a standard 25-foot rule. A
project team at Product Genesis proposed a new concept
in which the spring motor and tape spool are separated.
This creates a back-to-back arrangement that is
rectangular in form, allowing single-handed use.
Kris was lead engineer for concept validation.
