Since its inception, the company has designed and engineered mechanical and electromechanical systems for a variety of industries. Examples include consumer appliances, complex mechanism design, electronics packaging, medical instrumentation, fluid systems, robotics, and light transportation.
Prior to founding Kestrel Design, Kris held positions of Program Director, Project Manager, and Senior Mechanical Engineer at Product Genesis, Inc., an award-winning product development consulting organization in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Prior to joining Product Genesis, Kris worked at the early-stage venture DTM Corporation (later acquired by 3D Systems), developing one of the first commercially successful 3D printing technologies, selective laser sintering (SLS). At Ford Motor Company Kris was Research Engineer in the Vehicle Concepts Office of the company’s Engineering and Manufacturing Staff, and at Digital Equipment Corporation he worked in the Advanced Manufacturing Technology division developing techniques for disk drive manufacture.
